What it's about: Ellerie lives in a small town in Amity Falls, which rests between a large mountain range. The town is surrounded by a thick forest where monsters used to roam. The town gets very few visitors. One day, a supply crew goes missing, and people begin to worry that the monsters have returned to the woods. They blame a group of monsters who are supposed to fulfill the townspeople’s deepest wants. Ellerie must find out what is happening to their people before it's too late.

Let's talk about it: This is the perfect book for a spooky-season fall day. The vibes are very much a secluded town with mysterious secrets people don't want found out. It is the perfect horror book for someone who wants creepiness instead of outright scariness. The setting of the book was exactly what I wanted out of a book during the fall season, and I cannot stress enough how good this author is!! It's also perfect for people who tend to read more fantasy and are hoping to get into other genres because this book blends them together perfectly. Sometimes the plot can get slow, but something always happens to keep it moving, and I hope you enjoy it just as much as I have!
