On March 10th we joined hundreds of other New Jersey schools, makerspaces, and libraries to celebrate New Jersey Makers Day and the flourishing maker culture in our state. Library staff, and members of our Teen Advisory Board, Haddonfield Friends of the Library, and Board of Trustees helped participants create unique projects and learn new skills. Together we soldered, created robots, designed buttons, engineered cardboard structures, completed paper circuits, and created bath bombs. Many of these activities are available in our makerspace.
Bath bombs can get a little messy but its the best smelling mess ever! Hard at work soldering. Someone is happy to make her own cardboard artwork. Roar! These customized paper circuits were a hit and didn't require any soldering! Vroom! Attach a motor to a toothbrush and watch it go! Adding LED eyes with solder. Our volunteers were happy to help people make bath bombs.
