YOUR GUIDE TO YOUR LIBRARY ACCOUNT through the HPL CATALOG

 

Your library account gives you the following information:

·        What you have checked out and when they are due

·        What items you have placed on hold

·        General registration information -- when your registration expires, email, telephone number, address

·        Fines and Fees you owe

·        Your Reading History (if you choose to activate this feature)

Your library account allows you to:

·        Renew items you have checked out

·        Place holds on library books and audiovisual items

·        Activate or cancel the “Reading History” feature

·        Change your password

·        Submit changes to your registration information

 

*      TO LOG ON TO YOUR ACCOUNT:
Click here to open up the HADDONFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY CATALOG

1.      Click on Patron Account

2.      Click in the Barcode Number window and type your library card number

3.      Click in the Password window and type your password.
Note: your initial password is 1 2 3 4. See “Change Your Password” below. WE RECOMMEND YOU CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD TO SOMETHING OTHER THAN THE INITIAL PASSWORD.

4.      Click on Log On

 

YOU  must   LOG ON   to  your  account  to  do  any  of the  following functions

 

*      TO VIEW AND RENEW ITEMS OUT

  1. Click on Items Out
  2. To renew all items, click on Renew All Items
  3. To renew selected items, click in the box next to the item or items and click Renew Selected Items

Note: the following items cannot be renewed:

o        Feature films on DVD

o        Spoken word audios from the rotating collection of the South Jersey Unabridged Audio Circuit

o        Interlibrary loans and

o        Items on reserve cannot be renewed.

 

*      TO PLACE A HOLD REQUEST

  1. Click on Search (at the very top of the screen)
  2. Navigate the search results to find the title you want
  3. Click Place Request

 

*      TO VIEW OR CANCEL HOLD REQUESTS

  1. Click on Requests
  2. To cancel a hold request, click on the box next to the item or items and click on Cancel Selected Holds

o       Note: if you want to cancel an item that is already being HELD for you at the circulation desk, please call the Library (856-429-1304) to cancel that request

  1. To cancel all requests, click on Cancel All Holds

 

*      CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD

  1. Click on MY RECORD
  2. Click on Change Password
  3. Type your current password in the Old Password window
  4. Type your new password in the New Password Window.

You can use 4 to 16 characters – any combination of letters or numbers

  1. Click on Submit

 

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT PASSWORDS: once you change your password, the library does not have a record of your password. If you forget your password, you will have to come to the Library and show identification to receive a new temporary password, which will again allow you access to your account. No information about library card numbers and passwords will be given over the phone or by email. These procedures are to safeguard the privacy of your account.

 

*      CHECK YOUR FINES AND FEES --- Click on Fines and Fees

 

*      SUBMIT CHANGES TO YOUR REGISTRATION  INFORMATION

  1. Click on My Record
  2. Click on Change Account Information
  3. Click in the appropriate windows and type in the new information
  4. Click on Submit Change Request

o        Note: to update an expired card or changes in address must be verified in person at the Library on your next visit

 

*      START, VIEW OR CANCEL YOUR READING HISTORY

This feature allows you to keep a history for yourself of what titles you checked out – up to 1000 titles or 3 years, whichever comes first – after that titles begin to drop off.

 

To start your Reading History:

1.      Click on My Record

2.      Click on Change Preferences

3.      Select Maintain Permanent Reading List by clicking in the check box

4.      Click on Submit

To View your Reading History -- Click Reading History on the black menu bar

To cancel your Reading History

1.      Click on My Record

2.      Click on Change Preferences

3.      Unclick the Maintain Permanent Reading List

4.      Click on Submit

 

DON’T FORGET TO LOG OUT WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED……………
